Presenting one-of-a-kind framed butterfly art!

This beautiful and whimsical piece features real butterfly wings paired with a hand-crafted and painted body. These wings were sourced from a butterfly specimen whose body was too damaged for traditional mounting. Instead of letting these wings go to waste, they have been transformed into a butterfly with a hand-painted body.

Some artistic liberties have been taken in the painting of the butterfly body.

Sourcing: These wings are sourced from a butterfly farm. I do not know the species of the butterfly. These are from a lot of damaged specimens that would normally go to waste.

Surrounding the two butterflies are pressed flowers from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

The doubled-paned glass frame measures 18 x 13 x 1 cm in size. It is made to stand flat. The frame can open but we highly recommend that you do not. If you open the frame you risk shifting the contents and causing permanent damage to the original design.
